Attention span: 8/10 There is no level editor.
Controls: 9/10 Standard controls. The ON key has a bug though.
Implementation: 8/10 The fungus doesn't work yet.
Overall: 8/10 This game is beta, so I'm sure it will improve.
Repton is a scrolling game, based on the version for the BBC Micro. Your objective is to go through each level and gather all the gems. Additionally, you must collect the golden crown and/or kill all of the monsters, depending on whether or not they are present. When you have done this, you difuse the time bomb and proceed to the next level. The game supports external levels but does not come with a level editor.
As the author indicates in his documentation, the fungus does not yet work. Also, when you turn off the calculator using ON (as the program says you can), you will never be able to leave the program and must pull out the batteries. I like to use the ON key to rest and save battery power, but I use it most often as a teacher key. Unfortunately I cannot do that if I want to retain the calculator's contents. |
