Having played several ported versions of Mario games in the past, I thought that this one might be better, as its size might seem to indicate (3kb for an assembly game is pretty small). However, this game wasn't very good. The built-in level is boring, speed is a bit of an issue, and graphics leave quite a bit to be desired. It would be a much more promising start if external levels were supported.
Speed: 7/10 Graphics: 5/10 Memory usage: 10/10 Overall: 6/10 |

This is a very early attempt at Mario.
Don't ge me wrong, it's a promising start, and it does capture Mario gameplay fairly well, but there's only two very easy levels, and the graphics design leaves a little to be desired. Not horrible, though.
Graphics: 5/10
Gameplay: 7/10
If it is ever completed, this could be an excellent game. But there's already a Mario on the 83+, fully complete with over a HUNDRED levels for it. It has better graphics and gameplay, with many types of blocks/terrain, enemies, and other sprites. |
