Attention span: 7/10 Just a demo, should get better.
Controls: 8/10 Simple and easy to master.
Implementation: 8/10 Graphics are a little shabby.
Overall: 8/10 Good game overall.

Aerox is like no other racing game for the 89 ASM I have ever seen. Even though it's just a demo now, it holds great promise.

Aerox is a game where you, the race car driver in a little triangle, have to move around other cars to the finish line. Pretty straight-forward. One of the things that sets it apart is the fact that it includes cruise control - no other racing game that I've seen has something like that. Usually, you have to sit there holding 2nd and maneuvering at the same time. Not in Aerox - it's a "set it and forget it" type of thing.

The controls are ultra-smooth, as is the display. The buttons generate quick responses, although the acceleration could be a little faster, and the steering is great. The quasi-3-D rendered playing field includes turns, dips and hills in the roads, as well as bridges that you can see through. My advice to the progammer - keep on going!

Attention span: 7/10 Good looks, but short.
Controls: 7/10 Good, but needs getting used to.
Implementation: 6/10 No title screen/not long.
Overall: 7/10 Good now; could be great later...

Wow, here's something you don't see everyday: a 3D racing game for the TI-89, called Aerox.

The objective? Win the race, of course. And what a race it is; nice speed and control. It could take a few seconds to get the hang of, though.

It feels a lot like Wipe Out to me. It plays a lot like it as well.

Drawbacks? Too short; you play for about 15 seconds and the race is over. Maybe this'll be helped in later versions.

Right now, it's fun to play, even though it is short. You might not keep it long on your calc, that is, unless a longer racing version comes out...
