Re: TI-H: GPS, may be possible!
I'm not sure, but the computer uses a mapping software that contains the
maps. There would be NO way to put that on the calc, but what if the GPS
reciever simply sends the Lattitude/Longitude coordinates. You could
connect it via the TI-Graph link cable and read just the coordinates.
You could then have it display the data on screen. Another possibility
would be a visual display. Hit enter and it shows a graphical location
of your position. Hit enter again and it goes back to the full data
readout. You wouldn't have much detail on the map, but you could create
a "map" of the edges of continents and possibly even countries and
states if there is sufficient memory. you would have a flashing dot or a
cross hair to show position relative to the borders or shores. If there
is sufficient memory you could possibly even have major cities as single
points. The map wouldn't zoom in far, since there are few, if almost no
details, but another optional mode might be a custom map. a map of a
single town or of the country roads you often get lost on, or maybe your
general region with friends houses pinpointed. It would be cool, and
maybe even possible!
