Serial Port($4 link)

Serial Port($4 link)
After you connect all the transistors together, you have to connect the end
wires to the
serial port connector. In the schematic($4 link)it shows two lines:one
connecting to "6
DSR" and another connecting to "8 CTS". On these lines there are no resistors
or
anything on them, so what do these lines represent? A extension of the
headphone wire
perhaps?
Another question. When you get ready to connect the end wires to the serial
connector,
the schematic shows the end wires labeled with numbers and letters on them. I
assume the
number shows which pin on the serial connector to connect the end wire to. So
which pins
on the serial connector have which numbers?
Could someone please give me a diagram of the back part(side where the wires
are
attached to) of a serial connector which shows the pins with the numbers next
to them.
Example: 1.2.3.4. . . . . <---- Is that it?
5.6.7.8.9. . . . . .
