I thought you said you had a HW1 89 w/ 2.04.  HW version really shouldn't matter for something like this, though.
 
I have a HW1 89 w/ 2.04, and I tried what you said works, but I get the "Invalid Program Reference" error.  Don't know what your calculator's been smoking ;-p

I already knew it didn't work on VTI, as I explained in my first post.  However, it continues to work on my _real_ calculator, and it appears to work on some others.  We need someone with a HW2 89 to try it.  If you have one, please back up your files, reset your calculator (to erase DoorsOS or whatever other shell you use), transfer a program such as Another Mario or TI-Chess that requires no shell, and test it in an expression such as "tichess()+3."  I know Zeljko Juric and others will be curious about the result.
