Re: A89: Re: Fw: TI-89 ROM 1.05 vs 2.00 version inquiries
I do not understand the want of one of the HW2 89s... If I understand
correctly, these are the differences:
old 89 -> HW2 89
~10Mhz =( overall speed) -> ~12MHz (overall speed =)
LCD address @ anywhere*8 -> LCD address only @ 0x4c00, 0x5c00, 0x6c00, or
0x7c00
greyscale (fast LCD refresh =) -> no greyscale =( slow LCD refresh)
possible ROM overwrite (make our own OS? =) -> ROM protected =( only TI-OS)
The only good thing I see is the overall increase in speed, which is
something I can deal with. Personally, I am glad that I have an older 89,
as I am still able to play SF2T after my calc has crashed for some
god-forsaken reason... and my friend has to hope that I will give him games
back for the millionth time if that happens to him! =)
