[A83] Re: Gameboy
The simple answer is no. Many, if not
all gameboy games are larger than 22 kb, which makes it impractical for the
TI-83 models. Any existing memory mod would be ineffective, and I doubt
any memory mod could be — the expanded memory, I believe, would need
to be directly accesible by the microprocessor (???). Also, the TI-83
series uses a vastly different display driver than a Gameboy.
Therefore, a "port" would require huge amounts of work. It may be
possible, but it might not be worth the effort.
However, the fact that gameboy has a Z80-like
processor suggests interesting possibilities in new software creation.
Using existing Gameboy games as templates for new ones on the TI-83+ can
ease development! I would be happy to research this with you... it seems
so radical that it just might work.

Hi. I was just
wondering about something. I heard somewhere that the processor in the
gameboy is very similar to the Z80. I found a document on the
differences and some other technical info. Does this mean that it is
possible (with lots of work) to port Gameboy games to the calc (specifically
TI-83+ SE or TI-83+ with some sort of memory
mod)?

I took an IQ test and the results were negative.
