The installation of Trigonometry Functions is actually very stright forward. But if this is your first time working with the TI Graph Link software, or cable then some points may be a little tricky. So I thought section would be useful to the newer users in the TI Community.
- Make sure that your cable it connected to both your computer and calculator.
- Find the file, trig.zip, that you downloaded, and unzip it using a compession program like WinZip, or EasyZip.
- Run your TI GraphLink Software
- Select "Link" from the menu. Then select "Send...".
- Go to the directory on your hard drive where you unziped trig.zip.
- Highlight "trig.89g" and click on "add" then click on ok.
- If all goes well Trigonometric Functions V2.0 should now be installed.
If you would like to be able to launch Trig Func V2.0 by just pressing two buttons on your calculator, then follow these easy steps.
- After installing the program goto the "Var Link" screen on your calculator by pressing "2ND" then the minus key.
- In the "MAIN" folder there should be a program called "kbdprgmX", you may have other quick launch program already on your calculator they will be named exactly the same as this one, but the X will be replaced by a number between 1 and 9 (not 0). Find a number that is not already taken and go to the next step.
- Highlight the program "kbdprgmX" and press "f1" then select "rename" and rename exactly the same as it was, but replace the X with the number you found in the previous step.
- Then highlight the the program again, press "f1" and select "Lock" from the menu.
- Now try running Trig Functions by pressing the Green Diamond Key, and then the Number you substituted X with. Trig Func V2.0 should now run.
If you do not want to set up Trig Functions to Quick Launch then you can simply type "trig/trig()" at the homescreen to run the program, or use the Var Link Screen to select the trig program in the trig sub-directory.
