MemoPad advanced string editor |
Thank you for downloading MemoPad! MemoPad is a powerful string editor for the TI-83.
1) Starting MemoPad for the first time.
When you start MemoPad for the first time, you will need to select the Clear option in the main menu. This will clear strings (documents) one through five so they are clean and the editor can use them. Note: If you do not use the clear option the very first time you start only, you will get an error. Don't worry; this error is non-fatal.
2) Creating New Documents
Select New from the main menu. This will bring up the typing screen. Begin typing your memo, making any last minute changes before you press enter. Pressing enter will bring you to the save screen. You can save into strings (documents) one through five. Please remember not to save onto one you are trying to keep. It will completely overwrite your document and your information will be lost. Go to CANCEL if you do not wish to save what you just entered.
3) Viewing Documents
To view any documents (one through five) that you've written to using MemoPad, select View from the main menu. This will bring you to, well, the view screen. Select from the view menu which document (string) you would like to view. If you made a mistake or do not wish to view a document, CANCEL is your best bet. Once you select a document to view (assuming that you did), you will be brought to the view? screen. More is discussed in the following sections.
4) Viewing : Quick View
Quick View is just that, a Quick View. But, it can also be more extended than the Extended View (more info in the next section). When you want to view one of your documents, you should select View from the main menu. If you have trouble with the view menu, or you need more help, please see section 3. Quick View will show you the document you selected on one line. Don't worry, the line scrolls when you press left or right, so you can still see every single aspect of the document. This is not the case with Extended View, however...
5) Viewing : Extended View
You would think Extended View would be much better than Quick View. Well, in most cases you would be right. But in some, you wouldn't. As you know, Extended View is just that, extended. It will display the document you selected and display as much as it can on the whole screen. This is useful for documents that don't take up more than the screen; but if they do, Quick View's probably a better bet.
6) Exiting MemoPad
Note: Please do not exit MemoPad by pressing the [ON] button. This is liable to corrupt your information, or otherwise distort data. To quit, at the main menu, go to option Quit and press enter. This will do just that.
