------------------------- * * * BACKUP 89 * * * ------------------------- Name of the program: BACKUP89 Author: Benoît Charpentier E-Mail: benoit.charpentier@Francimel.com Programming: Basic date: 09/02/99 version: 1.01 Sorry for my English but I'm French. Backup89 is an utility program. It adds an important function that doesn't exist on the Ti-89 : the transmission of a memory backup between 2 TI-89. Indeed if you send for example a variable archived to an another 89 with the VAR-LINK, it will arrive there unarchived. The problem also works for protected variables (locked) or even hidden of TI-EOS. It is just the same for other problems such as folders problems etc... This could make you waste 15 minutes to copy the memory of another one. All of this is very complicated compared to the function backup that exists on other TI's. That is the reason why I decided to program it... INSTRUCTIONS It wasn't possible without BASICLIB. To install Backup89 you have to send Backup89 and Basiclib before. Basiclib must be placed in the 'main' folder, Backup89 can be placed wherever you want as long as he is launched since 'main'. When launched, you have the choice between 5 possibilities: F4 : "Send program 'backup89'" : To send Backup89 and Basiclib on the receiving TI. F3 : "Receive backup (reset)" : To receive the backup while overwrite the memory (except B&b of course). F2 : "Receive backup (add to)" : To receive the backup in addition to the memory already existing. F1 : "Send memory backup" : To send the memory's backup. [ESC] : Quit The "Receive" choice (F2 and F3) must be launched before "Send" (F1). If you choose a receipt "add to" (F2) and that you don't have enough memory, a message will tell it to you and you will come back to the initial menu (you can press [ON] to get some more time on the receiving TI). Once the backup launched, wait a few seconds and then a progressbar will indicate you how far it is from the end of the transmission. Don't interrupt it. BUGS Folders unhidden isn't hidden on the receiving TI. I don't think there's any others bugs, mail me if you find some... I'm not responsible for damages while the execution of Backup89. THANKS -Eric Charpentier for the loan of his TI-89 wich had permitted me to test it (this would have been difficult with only one !). -Murielle and Isabelle DAVAINE for their help for the translation -Alban Gervaise for Basiclib -FL OTHER PERSONAL PROGRAMS -the Yam's (Basic games) I hope that this program will help you...
