RUN 21 v1.4 by Britt Neighbors Table of Contents I. Loading II. How to play III. High Scores IV. Bugs/New Versions V. Credits I. Loading The Zip should come with the following files: gameplay.gif- Picture of game highscores.gif- Picture of game. flib.89z- Flib library which is required for game. run21h.89g- Run21 that includeds oncalc help/documentation(aobut 2000 bytes bigger) run21.89g- Run21 without oncalc documentation.(not suggested) Send Run21h.89g(with help file) or Run21.89g(w/o help file) and flib.89z to your ti-89. Make sure all the pics and programs are in the run21 folder. I added oncalc documentation to this version because i had some complaints on how to run the game. I suggest using the one with help included so when you send the game to your friends you can just tell them to read the help file. I know this version works for AMS 1.05 but on my friends AMS 1.0 it didnt work so i dont know if it will. Run the program run21 to play. Run21 requires that you have flib v1.7(included) by Francois Leiber. II. How to play Object: ------- If you have ever played the Run21 game that is found on most MegaTouch Arcade machines then you should be familiar with this. This game is total graphical. The object of the game is to get 5 hands of 21 or the closest you can get to being 21 without going over. If you bust then you get 0 points for the round. If you get 5 cards in one hand(5 card charlie) then your hand total is automatically made 21. You score is calcualted by multiplying time left by the points you won. You play 3 Rounds and try to get the most points possible. You can put any card on any hand at anytime, so basically you dont have to do one hand at a time. Keys: ----- F1-F5: These keys place the card in the hand you want. for example F1 puts card in 1st hand and F3 in the thrid. Esc: Per each round you have one skip card option. If you press Esc it skips the current card and displays the next. After you use this skip card option then the next time you press Esc you will stop the round and take your score. Apps: Exits Game. Things on the screen: --------------------- The number in the bottom right corner is the number that determines how many points you get. It is the total of all your hands. The other five boxes at the bottom are the total for each individual hand. The top left is the card that you can play at that moment if you dont want that card you can press Esc to get a new one(only once per round). Your overall score is in the top right corner. The big box on the far right is the point system.for exapmle If you get 104 grand total then your score would be the time left times 500. Or if it is 103 then it would be times 400. Misc: ----- Aces count as 1 or 11 and it will automatically figure out which you need. Hint: If you have 21 with a ace and a 10 point card and you get a another 10 point card and you have no where to put it then put it on the ace b/c it will still be a score of 21 and you will get to see an extra card w/o using Esc. *IMPORTANT* Dont press on to break the game in progress b/c it messes up your screen. It is fixable but you have to open stuff up and mess around with the calculator to fix it. If this sounds complicated you will probaly get use to it as you play. III. High Scores The highscores are contained in the file his.89m(or his.89l when encrypted). I encrypted it so no one could tamper with the high scores easily. If you know anything about programming then it will be easy to do decrypt it and change scores but not for the average guy. The highest score ever gotten was by Trent Erb and it was a socre of 756000(3 Run 21's in a row). *Press diamond and backspace(del) to erase high scores while at the high score screen.* IV. Bugs/New Versions Only bug that i know is that while the game is shuffling and you hit F1-F5 your will start playing immediately. Version 1.4 -Fixed the highscore program, hi-score file could not be sent, now everything works perfectly Version 1.3 -Fixed High Scores allows Capitals and spaces. -Fixed bug where if you pressed Esc when you put your name in the game crashed. -Added On-calc Documentation -Apps button now exits out of game completely -Cut more bytes off programs Version 1.2 -Added High Scores -Cut like ~1500 bytes off programs -Using flib v1.7 Version 1.1 -Shuffling dosent take as long. -Fixed 5 card charlie in 3rd row -Fixed other misc stuff Version 1.0 -First Release IV.
