-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Script85 1.1 For ZShell Documentation By Rob Linwood Copyright 1997 Rob Linwood/Aunt Floyd Productions mailto: rob.linwood@k-palace.com http://robwww.home.ml.org/ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= What it is: Script85 is a ZShell program that will allow you to write in full size print, and then copy that text to the graph screen. What you need: (1) A TI-85 (2) ZShell 4.0 or OS-85 2.0 (3) At least 1160 bytes of free RAM Features: Ability to write in both black-on-white (normal) and white-on-black (reversed) text. How to make it run: (1) Run ZShell or OS-85 ( hit [CUSTM] [F1] ) (2) Run "script85" (3) Hit either F1 or F2 depending on your choice of print style. (4) Enter your text. All keys are uppercase (for now), and they all print the same things as they would with the [ALPHA] button pushed. Some keys do other things: [EXIT] : Exits without saving. [MORE] : Exits AND saves [ENTER] : CR/LF [CLEAR] : Clears the screen & sets cursor position to (0,0) [DEL] : Deletes last character [ ] : (up arrow) Changes text to black-on-white [ ] : (down arrow) Changes text to white-on-black The following chart shows what keys produce which charaters: ÉÍÍÍÍÍÑÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» º Key ³ Char. º ÇÄÄÄÄÄÅÄÄÄÄÄÄĶ º F1 ³ . º º F2 ³ , º º F3 ³ : º º F4 ³ ; º º F5 ³ ! º º 2nd ³ - º ºAlpha³ + º ºGraph³ * º ºx-VAR³ / º ºStat ³ \ º ÈÍÍÍÍÍÏÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ (5) When you are done, hit the "[MORE]" key. (6) You can move the text in only one direction (once again, for now), that being up. To do this, hit the up arrow, and the text will scroll up one line. Anything that goes off the screen is lost. (7) Hit any key to copy the screen to the graph, and return to ZShell. (8) Additionally, anything on the graph screen will be overwritten. You might have to hit [GRAPH] [F5] before running the first time. Why should I use Script85? The other two ZShell programs that I know of which allow to add text to graphs (Graf Writer by Andreas Ess and Text85-2 by Jason Todd) both only allow use of the menu font. This means all you can get are tiny letters. Say you're displaying a graph on the overhead, and the people in the back have to squint to see the little letters. Not anymore! Now with Script85, you can have BIG words in graphs. Plus, you can reverse the standard color scheme, and have white words printed on a black background! Had a few odd quirks (Feb 28th) Version 1.01 - Fixed some bugs: Ability to exit out of main screen w/o typing anything Fixed some errors in code. ( not released) (Mar 1) Version 1.1 - Current version: Ability to exit from typing screen by hitting [MORE] Fixed bug with [DEL] key On-the-fly text style changing Revised documentation (Mar 3) This is my first ZShell program to be released. I don't know of any bugs, but if there are any, please mail me at the address at the top of this file. I am working on another ZShell program, a 'Final Fantasy'-like RPG. But I probably won't be finished anytime soon, so in the meantime, pick up some of my scrolls LVLs from ticalc.org or http://robwww.home.ml.org/ti85/ -- Rob Linwood (aka AuntFloyd on IRC) Newark, Delaware USA March 3rd, 1997
