My first program. The Summery: It is like a lock protect for the calc but then again it is unlike all other locks you have ever seen. At least I have ever seen. The Man: Austin I am pretty excited about this here little guy. My first. And a damn good program to boot. I live in Southern California and although my school has thousands of kids I am the best there. That is kinda sad. I learned about what ZShell really is about ?four? months ago and when I saw McMik by Andreas Ess, I said to my self, "Wow, that is sooo cool! This beats the tar out of programming on the TI!" Now replace "Wow" and "tar" with four letter works of your choice. I wrote people and got help. Mainly from Jimmy Mardell back then. The Mission: One day while walking home from school with Jason Fuller, a friend and TI-83 programmer, we somehow got on the subject of lock programs and it came out that a cool lock would be if you didn't have to put in that stupid code everytime you use a lock program. So one of us (I don't remember [or care] who) thought of holding down the keys to do it. WOW! What a break through! I realized that is possible with asm and although I didn't know how to do it at the time I knew I could find out. I made a version that was big and there were only eight different values spread around for the keys. That was no good so I emailed Jimmy and he set me strait on what to do. I cut it down to about half the size and gave all the keys different values (among other things.) The Program: When you turn on Safe Hold you will see the menu: 2nd: Change Combo ENTER: Lock TI-85 EXIT: Quit (although not on the menu) Notice the little writing saying unregistered version. I will get to that later. I have ENTER to lock the calc so that when you want to quickly shut off you just go to the Program "slot" in the ZShell menu and press ENTER twice. To change the combo press 2nd. It will say, "Hold down old code." If this is the first time changing it just press ON. ON is what will tell the TI you are holding down the correct keys. It will then say "Hold down new code." Let go of all the keys you had from the old code and now hold the new keys you want to have as combo. Then press ON while the keys are pressed down. That will save the combo and that is it. When you shut down calc and want to turn it back on you just hold down the right keys and press ON. Simple! The Registery: I am having some pretty bad money problems right now and so I am asking everyone out there who likes my program to please send money. Mail me first though. If you can't send money or don't want to send money it is fine with me. This is not life or death here. To register just send me email saying you want to register. Tell me your name or what you want me to replace "Unregistered Version" with. I will be happy to send you it if you mail me. If you would feel inclined to send money then just write me and I will tell you where to send it too. I am not the best programmer but I got this key code thing down so if you do need some help with something don't hesitate to write me for that either. What I am saying is please write me for any damn reason you can think of. Just DO NOT SEND ATTATCHMENTS!!! I can not get them. They become garbage. I have internet access but my email just will work for me. The Thanks: HHHHUUUGGGEEE thanks to Jimmy Mardell and Andreas Ess. I would be no where without you guys. And thanks to my family for their moral strength through the thick and thin. And to all the little people out there who made this possible... Forgot I wasn't getting an Oscar... Sorry... The E-Mail Address: d.butler31@genie.com It is my dad's account. I should get my own account soon.
