ChemLib 85 version 1.03 - Volume I ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by: David Cantrell INTRODUCTION: ChemLib 85 is a collection of my first three ZShell programs. I am a junior in high school and I am in chemistry. I wanted a quick method of reference to things like the periodic table and polyatomic ions, mainly for oxidation charges. I got tired of looking up the values in the back of the chemistry book , so I developed these programs for ZShell: ptoe Periodic Table v1.0 lanact Lanthanoid/Actinoid v1.0 polyions Polyatomic Ion List v1.0 Periodic Table is self explanatory. Lanthanoid/Actinoid are the Lanthanoid and Actinoid series on the periodic table. I did not include them with "ptoe" because they are rarely used, so you can just delete the "lanact" program. "polyions" is a list of common polyatomic ions, their formulas, and oxidation charges. This is the most useful to me. INSTRUCTIONS: ** These programs require ZShell version 4.0 or higher. I have tested all of these programs with ROM 9.0, I have not tested them with any other versions. ptoe Run this program from ZShell as any other ZShell app. Valid keys are: F1 for help, F5 for About, ENTER to display the element information, and EXIT to return to ZShell. Just type the element symbol. The program will automatically display info after you type a two letter symbol, but you have to press ENTER after a single letter symbol. You do not have to change ALPHA lock either (I built in the change :)). All the letters correspond with the correctly labeled keys. lanact Same as above. polyions Run this program from ZShell. Press MORE to cycle through the list of polyatomic ions, press EXIT to return to ZShell. DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any damage caused by my programs to your calculator. You run these programs at your own risk. SUGGESTIONS: Send you questions, comments, suggestions, bug reports, etc. to me. My e-mail address is: KCScout@msn.com If you have any ideas for new chemistry programs, feel free to left me know. Here is what you should look for in ChemLib 85 - Volume II: *A formula list arranged by category (i.e. gases) *An acid list Also be sure to look for ChemLib 85 - Volume I upgrades. NOTES TO ASM PROGRAMMERS: I did not include the source code because I change it daily. I you have a question on how I did something in one of my programs, contact me directly by e-mail. I will try to help you. Please do not modify my program and redistribute it. I do mind if you redistribtue it in its original form (CHEMLIB1.ZIP). -David Cantrell
