Readme file: v1.0 (size unknown): Original version. v1.1 (2672 bytes): Lists included files, known bugs, and update history. Updates file according to the new version of War. Known Bugs and Glitches: None. To play War (V1.1): 1. First download the game (WAR.8xp) to your calculator. 2. Once you have downloaded the program, open it (WAR, under PRGM). 3. There are a few ways you could customize this game: a. Currently, when you play you and your opponent both start with 26 cards. To change this, go to PRGM and edit the WAR program. The second line says "26->N." Change 26 to the number of cards you want to start with. NOTE: If you do this, also be sure to look at b. below! b. Currently, once you have 0 cards, you lose, and once you have all 52 cards, you win. To change this, go to PRGM and edit the WAR program. The fourteenth and fifteenth (complete) lines say "If N=0:Goto 5" and "If N=52:Goto 6." Change the 0 (how many cards you have when you lose) and the 52 (how many cards you need to win) to whatever you want. NOTE: If you changed the number of cards you start with in a., you should also change this. c. The low score (how many "battles" it took you to win) is initially set at 1000000. When you get a new low score, be sure to change this. To do so, go to PRGM and edit the WAR program. The first line says "1000000->L." Change 1000000 to your new low score. d. Another way to customize the low score list is to have it set automatically when you get a new low score. To do this, go to PRGM and edit the WAR program. The first line says "1000000->L." Erase this line. NOTE: I did not design the program this way because often, for school or for other games, you may have to change variables such as L. If you ever change or erase L, this will likewise change or erase your saved low score! Only use this option if you do not intend to ever need the L variable for school or for another program. 4. Finally, be sure to check regularly for updates. I am considering the following updates: a. I intend to put in rules for those unfamiliar with the game. b. I may change the program so that when you start it you are initially asked how many cards you want to play with. (Right now, you must change this manually as described above in 3a. and 3b.)
