Blackjack Readme (v1.4). To play Blackjack (V4.1): 1. First decide whether you would like the full version (which includes rules and "get help"--a tool that recommends what to do based upon actual odds) or the lite version (which saves space). 2. a. If you would like the full version, download the following programs to your calculator (totals 4219 bytes): --BJGAME1.8xp --BJGAME2.8xp --BJGAME3.8xp --BJODDS.8xp --BJRULES.8xp b. If you would like the Lite version, download the following programs to your calculator (totals 1941 bytes): --BJGAME1L.8xp --BJGAME2L.8xp --BJGAME3.8xp 3. If you are unsure how to play, read the rules (included in the full version). 4. Finally, be sure to check regularly for updates. As of right now, I am considering the following updates: a. I am still considering looking through my program in order to find ways to make it smaller and improve game speed without taking out any of the game's options. However, this will be tedious and may even require rewriting the entire program. Do not expect this to be completed soon. b. In an earlier version of this game, I had included a Surrender option. However, since surrendering is rather rare in Blackjack, I decided to take it out. I may decide to reintroduce it. c. This program currently does not have a Split option, and I really want to include one. However, due to the difficulty of putting a Split option in (it may require completely rewriting the program), this will take a while. d. At the beginning menu, I may add an "Options" option, that could include such things as whether or not surrendering is allowed (if I reintroduce it), 3:2 payoff vs. 1:1 payoff for blackjacks, dealer standing/hitting on soft 17, when or if you can double, etc. However, this could take a while. e. I may change the beginning of the program to ask the user how much money he wishes to begin with. Known Bugs and Glitches: None. Update History: Blackjack game: v3.1 (3376 bytes): First uploaded version. v3.2 (3293 bytes): Saves 83 bytes in storage space without changing any important functions of the program. v3.3 (3397 bytes): Fixes the Double option glitch that allowed you to double after seeing a third or fourth card. Now you may only double when you have two cards (which is how it is under normal tournament blackjack rules). Also saves 1 byte in storage space. v3.4 (3872 bytes): Completely changes interface (from "DISP" to "TEXT" for text). Fixes a small problem in the rules. Makes a few small changes in wording. Finally, changes the betting to 1-50 (or total amount of money, if it is less than 50), with increments of 1. v3.5 (3874 bytes): Introduces the "Clrhome" command at the beginning of the program so that the screen is blank when you quit the game. v3.6 (3879 bytes): Fixes small glitch where, if graph axes were being used, they would not be taken out when the program started. Now the axes are taken out. (Records of earlier updates not available.) Blackjack odds program: v1.0 (338 bytes): Original version. v1.1 (332 bytes): Saves 6 bytes in storage space without changing any important functions of the program. v1.2 (340 bytes): Fixes the Double option glitch where you are advised to double down even when (with BLAKJACK v3.3) you are not allowed to. v1.3 (359 bytes): Like BLAKJACK v3.4, completely changes the text.
