README for molrmass First of all, I don't mind if you change this program, or give it to anyone. However, if you're going to hand it around, just don't take credit for yourself. Thanks WHAT IS IT? This program calculates the mass of a molecule. Right now, its in version 1.0. This means that the masses of the individual elements are in a list. Soon, however I will be putting those values directly into the program. HOW DO I USE IT? When you first start the program, it asks you for the number of elements in your molecule. IMPORTANT: this number is not the number of atoms. For example, if you want to find the weight of a water molecule, you would type in "2" elements: hydrogen and oxygen. Next, you would be asked for the first atom. Here, enter the atomic number of the first type of element. In our example of water, you would type "1", for hydrogen. It asks you for quantity, so you type in 2 (H2O). It asks you for another element, give the atomic number, in our example "8", for oxygen. Then give the quantity "1" and it will tell you the weight of the molecule. VERSIONS This is the first version of this program. I'm going to change it so that it wont need a list with it. But if you find bugs, or can recommend ways to make it better, please, PLEASE tell me. Jacob Reynolds, email groovedogg@hotmail.com
