________________________________________________________________________________ TITLE: Lights Out PROGRAM NAME: LIGHTOUT.83p LANGUAGE: BASIC SIZE: 1629 bytes REQUIRMENTS: About 600 bytes free to run the game AUTHOR: Matt Ritenburg E-MAIL: mcbain9@hotmail.com DATE RELEASED: 11/10/98 ________________________________________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: ============ This is Lights Out, if you don't know how to play this game, you should be shot. There have been literally dozens of variations based on this game, but I got bored one day and decided to make one myself. It's a great game to make to learn BASIC, or just practice, or just to waist time. I just made it cause I couldn't think of anything else to make, and I knew I could make this better than most (if not all) other Lights Out-type games for 83 BASIC. For those who don't know, here's a BRIEF description of how to play: The board is an 8x8 playing filled, each level is randomly generated, but all are possible to solve. You move the cursor, "O", with the arrow keys, and use [2nd] to flip the lights, "*". The object of the game is to make all the lights, "*", disappear. The trick is when you flip some lights on/off, others around them will turn on/off as well. FEATURES TO NOTE: ================= This is probably the fastest any game of this type will be in BASIC. Also, the random level generator is completely original code, however, I got the idea from Flip Tile, which is also a good game. KNOWN BUGS: =========== None. VERSION HISTORY: ================ - Version 2.1: o Shaved 308 bytes of program size o Runs slightly faster - Version 2.0: o First version released.
