THE SUPER MARIO LAND SERIES This series was started in January 2004, when I had just downloaded Super Mario and the Editor. When I played the included Nagel level, I wanted to make my own. It became the first in the series. Since at that point, I did not plan on making an entire series, it was just called At The Super Mario Land, the "1" was added when the rest of the series was made. I uploaded the first levelset in February, and the rest were soon to follow. This description of the series was once included in all the readmes: "Work on this series began in late January 2004. I had had Super Mario 2.0 for a while, and then, when I downloaded Crunchy OS, I also downloaded the level editor. So, I began work on a levelset. That was the Super Mario Land I levelset, at that point only called The Super Mario Land. When my friends played it and said how awesome it was, I began work on the second levelset. I wanted to create what I saw as the perfect Super Mario series, including: (1) A storyline, which has continued throughout the series. (2) Different and detailed environments. All the levelsets have at least 2 environments which are new. (3) Challenging, but not insanely difficult zones. I've tested every single levelset, and they are all possible. (4) Zone names, which very few levelsets have, and (5) A good, helpful read-me file. I hope you've enoyed the series so far, and if you have any questions or comments, e-mail me. If you want to support the series, go to ticalc.org and write some reviews for the levelsets." In April, it came to my attention that "At The Super Mario Land 1" was a ridiculously long name. So, I set out to take out the "At The" in all their names. I also had gotten some complaints about crashing. That was because the original levelsets were designed for Mario 2.0, and some areas were completely unaccessible in the 1.2 version. So, I made two versions of each file, one for each version of Super Mario. The 2.0 versions are the closest to the original levelsets. This series was originally supposed to include 10 levelsets. The storyline for the 9th was that, now that Bowser was dead, Mario went on a quest to retrieve the Millenium Star from the Cloud Castle. Even though Bowser was dead, many of his minions were still alive. The storyline for the 10th was that Bowser had not been killed, and that he had managed to duplicate himself. Well, near the completion of the 10th, I ran into a problem. There was a glitch where a Bowser that had been passed would reappear later. This made the level unpredictable, and sometimes impossible. So, the 9th and 10th levelsets were never released. This series is done, and if you have any questions or comments, e-mail me at andrewrocks2003@yahoo.com If you want to support the series, and I would really appreciate it, go to ticalc.org and rate these files and review them. Thanks for downloading this file!
