There is a timer built in, so one has to enter the password within 10 seconds. GETTING STARTED: ---------------- Send the file z.82p to your calculator with the TI-Graph Link Cable and software. For those of you who do not have the TI-Graph Link Cable, open the file z.txt (which should be included in the original .zip file) with any text editor or processor, and type the program into your calculator manually exactly as you see it in z.txt. THE CURRENT PASSWORD IS 25374561. Simply run the prgmZ and press "2", "5", "3", "7", "4", "5", "6", "1". Then press enter (it says so on the screen). If you entered the wrong password it will say "ACCESS DENIED!" HOW TO USE STRONGHOLD TO PROTECT YOUR PROGRAMS: ----------------------------------------------- At the very beginning of the program you want to protect, insert (2nd INS) a blank line (ENTER). Press PRGM, then hit the right arrow key twice to access the EXEC menu. Then select Z. The line should look like this: :prgmZ Now run your program. If password screen comes up, you are all set. HOW TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD: --------------------------- If you want to change the password (which is currently 25374561), you will need a little programming experience. Find the line that says: :(X=1 and Ans=93 or X=2 and Ans=83 or X=3 and Ans=94 or X=4 and Ans=72 or X=5 and Ans=82 or X=6 and Ans=83 or X=7 and Ans=84 or X=8 and Ans=92)+P->P The numbers after the "Ans=" are the getKey values. Simply change the values to the keys you want. Remember, you don't have to use numbers for your password, you can have a sequence of keys. If you really do not know any programming, and want to change the password, then contact me at prompt@iconn.net and tell me the password you want to change to. I will change the password for you and attach the program to an email. BUGS, COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS: ------------------------------- If you have bug reports, ways to speed up or shrink the program, features you want to see in the next version, questions, or simply comments, contact me at prompt@iconn.net. I will do my best to answer your emails. VERSION HISTORY: ---------------- v1.0 Very simple. Used "Input" command in the homescreen. v2.0 Used the "getKey" command. v2.1 An asterisk appears after each key press. Added a "box" in which you enter the password. v2.2 Added a 10-second countdown. v2.21 Added a blinking "Press Enter" after you entered the password. v2.3 Fixed the bug where you could mix up the sequence of the keys of your password. Ex. Both 12345678 and 87654321 would be valid even if your password is 13572468. v2.31 Optimized code. Sped up the program by storing the getKey value in "Ans" instead of a "Real" variable. v2.32 Optimized code. Shrunk the program by more than 100 bytes. Forthcoming Releases: --------------------- At the moment, I don't think I will revise STRONGHOLD for a while if nobody sends me any suggestions. So please, if you have any ideas, please send them to me at prompt@iconn.net. I am currently working on a Periodic Table for the TI-82, so if you have any suggestions, contact me.
