 Directions

        PassWord Lock is a password program to protect others from running
your programs on your TI-82 calculator.  Just insert the code to the
beginning of a program that you want to be password locked.  The password
is currently set to "123456".  To make a new password you will need your
TI-82 guidebook.  Turn to page 13-16.  There you will see a diagram of the
calcalator.  Notice that each key is assigned to a number (except for the
on/off button).  Now, choose your password and find the six numbers that
correspond to those keys.  Then change the numbers in the correct section of
the program.  Do this by hitting [PRGM] then the right arrow, then find the
program that you want to lock and hit [ENTER].
Look for this in the program:

Change the numbers 92, 93, 94, 82, 83, 84 (on the end of the lines that
begin with "If") to your sequence of numbers.  And that's it.  Hit [2nd]
then hit [MODE] (for quit).  Then run your program and make sure your
password is working.  If it's not make sure you typed it in correctly.

 Hacker-proofing

Keep in mind, figuring out the password is not very difficult.  So to
further protect your programs, try changing your numbers to difficult
mathematical problems.  For example:  instead of 92 you could put
int (log 1001*30.9)
or something.  Be creative.  Try using things that not many people will know
how to solve.

In order to really hack-proof your program you will need the graph-link that
hooks up to your computer.  Use the TI Graph Link software to send the
program to your calculator and select the "protected" check box before you
send it.  Once it's on your calculator, it will not come up in the edit menu
under programs and it will not give the Goto option when you hit the on
button while the program is running.  This will make your password virtually
impossible to figure out!
