It was made for people who have a lot of other programs on their calculator. It is about HALF the size of LCARSEDT. It is simple to use. Here is a run down. You start the program. You are ready to edit. Hit 'ON' then '1'. You scroll down untill you see :Text(17,22," ") You put the text you want to try in the " " You hit '2nd' 'Quit' You hit Enter. LCARS will draw the screen and then put your text in the place it goes. LCARS is now paused. Het Enter. If you are happy with the way things turned out hit 1, other wise hit 2 and try again. After that.....it is just like LCARSEDT *********************************************************************** **************************BRAND NEW FUNCTIONS************************** Insta-Kill Insta-Kill will, when activated, kill the program and put some math on the screen so you are not caught playing with your calculator in class. To activate Insta-Kill, hold down the 'DEL' key untill the Math appears RANDOMIZER The randomizer will every now and then decide it wants to display some of the text in LCTXT. If you want to disable RANDOMIZER, you may do so by pressing '2nd' LCARS will promt you for a 'Y' or a 'N'. 'Y' being Yes and 'N' being No. If you want to turn RANDOMIZER back on, hit '2nd' and then 'N'. Randomizer is on by default. *********************************************************************** LCARS82 is my baby. I would appreciate it if no one changed the main program file. It pains programmers to see their file has been tampered with. Mainly in the credit line. I find it hard to believe that anyone would have the audacity to take credit for someone elses hard work. *****************************OLD README FOR FIRST TIMERS**************************************** Lcars Edit is a fairly strait-forward program. You start the program. At the menu, select edit Lcars. When you get to the screen that looks like Lcars, you are in the text viewer screen. The controls are easy. You are by default in Letter Mode. You use the letter keys and the letters appear. To switch to number mode, hit 2nd. To delete text, hit the left arrow. This will delete one pixel back at a time. Press 'MODE' when you are satisfied with the text. Now you will be able to pick a key to use. Press any key. The number assigned to that particular key will be displayed. If that key is already used, it will tell you so. When you find the key that you want, remember the number. Now press 'MODE'. * The onscreen instructions now will tell you to press 'ON' and '1'. Doing so will open the LCARSTXT.82P program to a point where instructions are located guiding you through the last part of the editing procedure. The final step to editing the program is to put in the actual code. This is a fairly simple step. THe only thing to be weary of is changing what you do not understand. If you don't know what it is, don't screw with it. Keep scrolling up untill it tells you to put your bit of code above this line. Be sure to put the number you used as a key in the list with the others. This will allow you to know that this key is assigned to something already when you edit the next time. Here is the code you will use: : If V=(The number of the key you selected) : Text(17,X,"Your text ") //After you type your text, add 4 spaces! Here is a sample : If V=32 : Text(17,X,"LCARS RULES! ") Explanation If V=21 //When the X,T,/@/ key is pressed Text ... //The message will display If there doesn't appear to be enough room to add your edits, press "2nd" then "Del". Now press "ENTER" a few times. This will place several blank lines When you have finished editing, press "2nd" and then press "MODE". This will quit the program editor. Now you may just press "ENTER". Doing this will bring you right back to the LCARSEDT Menu. There you may select to run LCARS. When the program starts, try out your edit! Have fun. To quit the program, press "MODE", this will prompt "EXIT (Y/N)" The "Y" corresponds to the "Y" on the keypad, which just happens to be the "1" key. ******************************************************************************************** ,,, ____________________oOO_(O O)_OOo______________________ (_) This program is brought to you by the nice people at Tailwind Computer Services TI-Programming department.
