MarioMan 1.0 by Jason Todd, (C) 1997 Alphasoft ================================================= INTRODUCTION Welcome to MarioMan, the revolutionary new game for the TI-82 graphing calculator! This game is sort of a cross between Super Mario Land and the classic Loderunner. The object is to complete each level by collecting the right amount of coins either loosely or from floating "surprise" boxes. LOADING AND PLAYING MarioMan runs using custom-made levels. Therefore, you cannot simply run the program from the OShell-82 menu, even though it's listed. You must run a level set, which will invoke the actual game program. There is one level set included with MarioMan, named MarioMan Set 1. Helpful hint: I suggest you run the game with your contrast set a little higher than normal, due to the "heavy" graphics at some points. When the game is playing, the contrast will appear to be back to normal. To play, simply collect as many coins as you can then make your way to the exit door at the end of the level. Watch your time limit, though. And remember, MarioMan is both an action game and a puzzle game. You must learn each level in order to beat it, as there are traps everywhere! GAME CONTROL Move left/right [LEFT] / [RIGHT] Climb up/down ladders [UP] / [DOWN] "Jump" under [?] box [UP] Dig through FLOATING ground [ALPHA] Pause game [2nd] Continue (after message) [ENTER] When you are directly under a surprise [?] box, you can open it by pressing [UP]. Be careful, though, because when the box is dark you will die if you try to open it. Note, also, that [ALPHA] will only work on flat, floating land. You cannot dig through solid (grounded) land or brick.
