CALCOFF v0.1 -- for the TI-82 ASM shell ASH v2.0 by Dean May (A new face in the ASM crowd) ------------------------------------------------------------ This small utility for ASH 2.0 will turn off the calculator, just like [2nd][ON] will, but it will leave ASH running, so when you turn it on, you don't have to restart ASH. (Think of it as a "teacher key" as they are so called on Fargo programs.) This means that everyone keeping OShell82 around just because you can turn it on and off without exiting should toss it and use ASH! WARNING: I am not responsible for memory loss. The call this program uses to turn off the calculator (CALL $7EA) will turn off the calculator, but unlike [2nd][ON] does NOT let the small watch-type battery hold the memory. (It would not be able to keep ASH running if it did this, unless I'm wrong) DO NOT SWITCH BATTERIES BY TURNING OFF THE CALCULATOR WITH THIS PROGRAM! USE [2nd][ON]! Otherwise, it will reset your memory! P.S. for ASMer's: I tried to use the true [2nd][ON] call (CALL $05C5), but it had little squares all over and problems restarting ASH. If you figure out how to make this work (better) e-mail me (Address below). I've included the (little tiny) code for this. You'd think with a name like CALCOFF, it would be self explanitory, but THINK AGAIN! P.S.S.: This documentation is probably 50 times bigger than the program. You need only 47 bytes for this program on the 82! Remember, if it isn't by Dean May, well.... It just isn't by Dean May!! Have fun with this (?)
