Hey guys you should use 5V with a 2K pull-up resistor, unless your leads
are sufficiently short.  In the TI-Keyboard (www.psikan.com) I use 5V
and everything seems to work fine.  Let me know if you need help in
design.

Yep I was wrong (and half-asleep), but I would say it isn't 4.5V 
either... closer to 3V/3.3V, one of which is also commonly used for 
digital applications.
