If ALL you want is the ability to send from one calc to another calc or to 
many calcs at the same time, and only be able to send from one calc at the 
same time, then this may work.

first get a pcIO-12 or similar 24 in/out isa card.  wire up a relay matrix 
with a common bus, connect this to the link port of each calc.  then program 
the card to connect the arrpoiat calcs together, send the program, and the 
others should load it.  

this is assuming the calcs can handle sending to more than one calc at the 
same time.  if this is not the case then you need some type of a one-2-many 
data converter.
