Mine did the same. If it's still under warranty send
it to TI, if not read on. I took a 2.5mm jack (mouser
part# 161-2502) and bent down the 3 prongs coming out
of the bottom. Then cut a hole with an xacto for the
new port to stick out of. I then glued the jack to
the PCB(pins away from the PCB) and used a scrap of
ribbon cable to make the connections. This worked
great on my 83. It looks a little strange with a jack
sticking out of the bottom right corner(that's just
where I decided to put it, you can put it anywhere),
but at least I have a link port.
