l think that TI needs to be commended for telling more about the
calculator
Thank you for your questions. I asked our product development team and
have some information on how the graphics will work on the TI-89. The
fonts and other graphics on the TI-89 will be scaled down so that any
image
information from the TI-92 will fit. The smaller fonts will be carried
through for dialog boxes, the graphing screen etc.
The following is some information about the pixel sizes of the various
parts of the TI-89 LCD:
Screen Part # Pixels
Toolbar 15
Edit Line 11
Status Line 6
History Screen 68

Total Vertical Pixels 100
Total Horizontal Pixels 160
# of Characters is variable because we use several different fonts to
display information, but average is 160/6 = ~26

We have chosen to use a new LCD technology for the TI-89 screen. This
technology allows us to increase the number of pixels per inch and
therefore decrease the size of the LCD. This means that while the
screen
itself is about the size of that on a TI-86, it has a resolution that is
much closer to that of the much larger TI-92 screen. For reference, the
TI-86 has a screen that 128 by 64 pixels, the TI-92 has a screen that is
240 by 128 pixels and the TI-89 will have a screen that is 160 by 100

Also, do you know what the working dimensions (how many pixels up and
down)

program can display a picture? (The screen size minus space for toolbars)
Do you know how many characters wide can fit across the screen?
You say that the ROM will be the same as that of the 92 plus, is there
any
way
l can suggest and idea?
