Most Macs do this, using some startup key combination or other. It varies
with different models but ALL Macs have a stripped OS somewhere in their
ROM.

By the way, a gameboy emulator is available for the old CISC macs (680x0,
not FAT encoded) which emulates the GB sound. If you really want to use the
gameboy sound chip take a look at it. It´s on http://www.emulation.net  .
If you´re going to use it talk to the author (of course! It´s shareware).
