	If you used a store-bought plug to attach the link to your calculator
instead of did not using half of your IO link cable, then that would
explain why the calculator cursur stopped when you plugged the link in. 
Using half of the IO link cable instead also might help.  If this is not
the problem, then maybe the link will just not work with your computer.  I
built a link cable and it worked fine on one of my computers, but not the
other (I made the parallel cable).
