Also remember the fact that the TI's have a different on-board ROM than the
GameBoy's; and likely a different customized version of the Z80.

Forget it.
The Gameboy ROMs require Gameboy hardware to work, and a TI calculator is
pretty far away from a Gameboy. You would have to emulate everything
(display, keyboard, sound etc.) to get a game running, which is slow and
difficult. The code would have to be run from RAM, because instructions
can't be run directly from a link port device, and I don't think the RAM of
any TI calc is big enough for a Gameboy game.
There are probably some more reasons why the games wouldn't work, but these
should be good enough...
