It doesn't give you any understanding how to use the LCD or I/O ports!  It
lets you use its junk.

Tell me how calling routines in ROM is learning how to use LCDs.  Not at all.

Who's projects?  Wow, lets flash a light or do some other thing thats
completely pointless...

Thats exactly what I said.  You don't get an understanding on how to use
the calc's LCD.  THe next line asks how you learn about LCDs by calling a
line, and the next line comments on the quality of Calc projects.
