If the backlight causes poor LCD quality because there is no mirror then we
need a way to fix that...

i know that this idea will be proven impossible and therefore pointless to
post but.......

do you know the one way mirrors that you can only see through side A if there
is light on  side B and you can ALWAYS see through side B?  (like in the rooms
where they test large groups of little kids...)   well if they come thin
enough why not stick one between the light and the LCD?!?!  If it is thin
enough i'm sure it would be proven effective in replicated the existing mirror
which you rip out when you stick the light in..
