RE: TI-H: Re: Dust behind the screen. Yes , it happens.
that's a LOT more dangerous. what I did was take the tip of a mechanical pencil (slim, long) and pushed it into the corner of the display, between the plastic dust cover and the casing of the calc. I then pried off the dust cover within a matter of seconds and blew thr dust out of there, popped the cover back on, and everything is fine. This works on just about the entire 8x series.
I would never open the calc except to repair or upgrade. Doing so to remove some dust is just taking a chance.

Are you serious? Or is it just a lame trick to make someone destroy his
calculator?
This applies to the ti85: Unscrew the 2 screws on the bottom of the
back-side and the one holding the flat battery. Carefully use a small
screw-driver to seperate the bottom-plate from the top-plate, start at the
bottom side, once you got it apart you'll know how the clips works. Now just
follow your instincts, unscrew the display, and maybe you might need to
unscrew the circuit-board also, but you'll see how it's done once you're in
there. (you can remove everything in there by just unscrewing screws, you
wont need a razor!)
