Compression has been tried, but the down side is that for afile that is 8k
compressed, and 10k uncompressed youd need a total of 18k to uncompress
and then run the program, plus any extra memory that the program needs to
run itself. so that is why everyone goes with expanders, because all you
have to do is use your ram as a staging area for the programs, where the
program is brought to from your storage area and run. that makes a lot
more sense.
