Well, if we directly connect to the cpu and wrote the driver, it can be done.  it's an old thread on the list, and it would be VERY tough...

If someone plans on IDE support for the calculator, we might as well use
a 5 gig drive and make a full web/ftp/mail/irc server on one TI
calculator.
I'm not saying that IDE couldn't be done, it's just not practical for a
calculator.
