TI-H: Spread spectrum Frequncy hopping Wireless thingamajig
Okay, one word: Ricochet.
It's a wireless PC modem, uses a 9-pin serial RS232 interface, and
actually hits 33.6, as opposed to the cell modems, which are lucky to
make 14.4.
It's expensive, highly complicated, and to use it as a modem, your city
needs repeater devices every couple of blocks or so. For head-to-head,
it worked fine in a Faraday cage.
It's a huge workaround, but maybe it can be done, especially since Mel's
Expander page claims a link port speed of up to 50kbps.
Just another thought.
