Well, I wanted the Expander II to be simple but at the same time
cheap. However, with the power that a microcontroller brings us, it
would seem a shame to build an expander without some cool new
"features." So basically the Expander II will fill just the "more
memory" niche and the Expander III will be more for the "power user."
As of now there are 5 new features planned for the Expander III,
including a true RS232 modem interface, an IR link, and 8 bit sound.
Maybe more, maybe less.
