I've built my own parallel link cable and it worked fine.
But then I bought a new PC and suddenly it just worked periodically.
My old PC was a Siemens Nixdorf PCD-4N (486, DX-25 MHz) Notebook with
normal ports and Win 95.
My new PC is a Siemens Nixdorf PCD-4ND (486, DX4-100MHz) Notebook with high
speed ports and Win 95.
It happens like this: I load Link85xp (From Win95) and the parallel port is
initialized, ie. my calc doesn't slow down when hooked up to the computer.
Then after a bit of time, maybe 30s - 1 min. it suddenly slows down. To be
able to send/recv. again I have to restart Link85xp. This sucks!!, as I'm
not able to send/recv. large backup files or programs.
The funny thing is, if I load Link85xp while in dos 6,2 it works. Then you
might say, what is the big deal. Well if you have some code you want to try
on the calc. it sucks pretty bad to wait 5 mins. every time you changed a
line to see if it worked better!
Hope anyone can help me Laurits S. Nielsen <CSN@dk-online.dk>
