The final conclusion must be that sometimes the link works and sometimes
it doesn't. It would take forever to find out what exactly it is. It is
definetly NOT just what processor you have, I have had it work on my
486-DX4100, my AMD586-133 and my friends' 486DX4120 and 386DX33. It is
probably software. I have had NO problems with the dos LINK85XP, but
have had quite a few with Connect85 (but it's a great program, just
doesn't transmit well).
