Re: TI-H: Just a small thought

A WARNING TO YOU ALL: THIS MAY BE COMPLETLY IDIOTIC. I DON'T NEED ANY
FLAMES, JUST SAY THAT I MAKE NO SENSE, AND GET ON WITH LIFE.

You make complete sense and are utterly lucid in your speech. I wish I
could describe my thoughts as well as you. This idea for finding what I
think you are looking for might work, but maybe not. Somehow insert the
following device into either wire in the link, in such a way that the power
MUST flow through the LEDs, and start a transmission between two calcs.

If one LED blinks, or lights up, or does anything, so long as ONLY ONE
comes on at any point in time, the wire that this device is connected to is
one way. (i think) If the same happens with the other line, the red goes
one way, and the white goes the other. This, then, would mean that we only
require a send and recieve for each calc, not four for each calc and a wierd
set up that will determine when the line should be high without starting a loop.
Something else that might be important is which LED lights up when. If #1
lights up on the red wire, and #2 lights up on the white, we are in business!
The RT lynk would then be quite simple. (Again, i think)
If, when the transmission is underway, both lights blink on and off, we have
a slight problem.
AGAIN: I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL TELL US ANYTHING AT ALL.
