What I meant was literally copy-and-pasting someone else's code and calling
it your own. Not only does this not really help you learn, bue also someone
probably worked hard on it and it is *theirs*. Unlike the wheel (which must
always be round), there are many ways to accomplish the same thing in
programming, even BASIC.

But examining and adapting other people's code is in many ways the
best way to learn. Why reinvent the wheel. Someone implements
a wheel, you need a sprocket. Adapt their wheel to meet your
needs.
