How about (With regards to the "How do I make things happen?" 
question) comparing the x,y coordinants with the same coordinants on a 
matrix, and then having the number there determine what (if anything) 
happens in that square?

e.g. If the matrix reads a one, then a fight ensues, and if a two, 
money, etc.
