The link port uses a wired-or system for both data lines, and it is thus
possible to connect more than two calcs with the existing hardware if a new
protocol is made. In most cases a system like this would probably be used in
games to support more than two players, and in these cases one could just
let the first calc to start the protocol assign addresses. By using this
method the only new hardware one would need would be a link cable with more
then 2 connectors, which I think would make more people use a system like
this.
