I've seen about rom calls that reset the APD counter. The pressing 
problem on the 82 is what rom call really turns it off and lets you turn 
it on where you left off?  The APD does this, and I'm sure if you 
somehow set the 82's apd counter to the lowest element the timer would 
see that and turn the calc off. I hope its not hardware that does this!
