Because converting temperature isn't done with just a multiplication factor, it has its own function.

tmpcnv(expr1, expr2)

For example, to convert 32degrees F to Celsius type

tmpcnv(32_0F,_0C) where in _0F and _0C the 0 is the degree symbol. (Sorry I didn't have time to find it in Goupwise.)
