Parallel Port Link trouble on fast computer(s)
Hi,
I have a Celeron 300A Overclocked to 450, and a P2-450 both running Win98.
My parallel port link (which uses a socket, then connects to my calc-to-calc
link) tests out fine in Linktest.com (Andrea's Westfield) and in CAL .91B. It
worked fine a few days ago (in my c300A system), but now (empty TI-86 and
TI-82) whenever I try sending a file to my calc(s), it says "Waiting..." on
the calc.
It does not receive the file, heck, it doesn't even begin to receive the
file. Yet, two-three days ago it worked fine. I've rebooted, tried in DOS
(F8-command line only at boot-up), and also recently tried WTran8x32 which
doesn't work either. Also at school, I can receive files from other TI-86's
without any problem.
Something odd I notice as well. When I'm in CAL, and the calculator is on and
attached to the parallel port cable, and in "waiting..." mode, I can press "T"
for test in CAL, and it does not report errors (which it SHOULD when the calc
is on).
I'm willing to believe all of this is because the computers are just way too
fast and are having some problems synchronizing. CAL already suggested
potential problems with P75 and above.
Any suggestions?
Please reply via email (ajkwan@softhome.net.nospam) to me, since I cannot
access newsgroups.
I'm almost at my wits end.
