Re: TI-86 sounds.

<<I've noticed that at www.ticalc.org there are assembly programs that allow
the TI-86 to play music. Do these work, and if they do, how? Is there a
builtin speaker of some type in the IT graphing calculators? >>
Yah, and sort of, and no.
Yah, TI-8x can play sounds.
Sort of, they work. How? The assembly programs toggle on and off the link port
very fast, making really cheesy square waves.
No, there is no speaker. You plug in headphones with an adapter to hear the
square waves.

By the way, TIs don't transmit data as sound, so don't get to thinking that you
could use a tape recorder for extra memory.
