Actually, the first spreadsheet - the "killer ap" that sparked the personal
computer revolution - was VisiCalc and it was written for the Apple ][.
Before VisiCalc, microcomputers were curiosities for hobbiests.  VisiCalc
gave the Apple an honest-to-goodness useful application and convinced
businessmen to start taking an interest in desktop computing.
